Fences Collage

My Heritage is a mix of different European cultures and religions.  My ancestors came from Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, Russia, and Austria.  We have a mix of religious backgrounds of Catholicism, Methodist, and Jewish.  While all from Europe, these backgrounds contribute to a melting pot of traditions, experiences and symbols.  The first symbols are of flowers that represent my family are the Scottish Thistle that is a sign of strength and resolve, The Red Rose of England that represents passion and love, and the Welsh daffodil that represent new beginnings in America for my family and agricultural history in both Europe and America.  The other symbols are that of the Irish Celtic knot that is an endless line of eternal love, and the Shamrock that represents luck but also my Christian beliefs of the holy trinity.  My Russian heritage is best symbolized in the Russian nutcracker ballet that represents and combines my passion of art and of holiday traditions such as Christmas, and nesting dolls which can represent the chain of mothers carrying on a family’s legacy for many generations.

Spring break

This year for spring break I went to seaside Florida. I went to the beach every day with a lot of my friends. It was so nice to have a break from school and be at the beach which is my favorite place. I can’t wait for summer when I can go to the beach all the time. I spent every day taking on the beach and watching the sunset. Most night I dressed up and went out for dinner. Some of the restaurants down there are my favorite. I look forward to them every year. I can’t wait to go back again for my senior year!

5/9/24

Today in class we read a rose for Emily. We read this as a class and answered the questions along as we read. This story was very interesting and didn’t end how I thought it would. We also watched a short film representation of the story.
